NHS Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is currently in the first year of a system-wide project for Speech, Language and Communication Needs across Dorset.

The objective of the project is to deliver a whole system approach to improving speech, language and communication services for children and young people under 25 years old living in Dorset, to ensure services are sustainable in the future.

As part of the process, social, education and health sectors have agreed to work together collaboratively to understand the needs of the local population, map local services, design and implement services to meet identified local needs and then review outcomes.

At present, the project is in its early stages and is focused on carrying out an initial review of existing services. As the project progresses, we intend to gather the views of service users and families who have experience of using Speech and Language services in Dorset.

Opportunities to take part will be publicised in due course, however there is no public consultation planned currently as part of the initial review stage.
