Bryant Pharmacy in Poole has become the latest pharmacy in Dorset to offer the COVID-19 vaccination.

The announcement comes after pharmacies in Wallisdown and Christchurch started vaccinating the most vulnerable people from mid-January, joining over 20 other sites across the county that are delivering the vaccinations as part of the national programme.

Vaccinations will start on Thursday 4th February and those who are eligible will be invited to attend.

People are asked not just turn up and ask for a jab as you could be delaying the vaccination process and disrupting the flow of those patients who are most vulnerable.

To date over 110,000 does of the vaccine have been given to people in Dorset.

Superintendent Pharmacist Araz Shalli said “We are really pleased that we are able to play a vital part in providing vaccinations to local people and have been working hard to ensure we can offer a safe and friendly environment for those people who accept their invitation to get their jab with us.

We are asking people not to turn up if they haven’t been invited and offering reassurance that when it is their turn the NHS will be in touch.”

Anyone who has been invited and needs to travel is asked to read the recent travel advice issued by NHS Dorset CCG which is available along with other useful information via www.dorsetccg.nhs.uk/vaccinations.
