We believe that the views of local people should be at the heart of their National Health Service. We work with a variety of committed volunteers on an on-going basis and their views help to inform service provision and development.

It is really important that these people are supported in their involvement roles and we have therefore developed “Supporting Stronger Voices”.

This is a six-monthly forum which provides the following:

  • Information and support to empower people in their role

  • Feedback on how people’s views are informing change

  • View seeking on a proposed area of service change

  • The opportunity to network and support each other

Supporting Stronger Voices was launched on 22nd May 2014 and is for:

  • Patient and carer representatives on condition-specific groups

  • Chairpeople of our locality involvement networks

  • Our lay-representatives

  • Patient participation group chairpeople that link with our Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) Development Workers

  • Members of our BME Health Network
