Idea 5

This type of therapy is used with children and young people who have experienced trauma. This could include neglect, physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse or post-traumatic stress disorder.

If a person experiences traumatic events, thoughts, feeling and memories about the events can get stuck and it can be hard to move on.

This therapy helps the brain to process the thought, feelings and memories to enable people to develop other ways of getting on with life.

We want to be able to offer this treatment to the young people who need it.

This treatment can also help young people who have a learning difficulty and/or autistic spectrum condition, who have been through trauma.
