Have your say – cancer with vague symptoms
The NHS in Dorset wants to improve and standardise the care given to patients who visit their GP with vague symptoms that may indicate the presence of cancer.
We are doing this because there are defined pathways for patients who present with specific symptoms indicative of cancer but nothing for vague/non-specific symptoms that could indicate a presence of cancer.
‘Vague symptoms’ might include abdominal pain, weight loss, nausea/ appetite loss or fatigue.
We need your help
We would like to work with patients and carers who have experienced cancer which presented itself in this way.
We need your insight and ideas to help shape a patient pathway – from when a patient first sees their GP to diagnosis.
Your experiences could help to shape and improve this
We are holding a series of 3 morning workshops starting in August in Wimborne.
The workshops will be informal and friendly and our team members will be there to listen to your experiences.
The dates of the workshops are:
- 22 August
- 20 September
- 8 November
For more information and to register your interest in the workshops, please email DCP@dorsetccg.nhs.uk by Friday 9 August.
