There is currently no way of recording vaccines received abroad (either one dose, where the second is given in England, or both doses given abroad). The COVID-19 vaccination programme’s Digital team are working on a solution.

There is an important question of whether recording a vaccine given abroad will entitle a patient to a vaccine certificate, and whether this is what the policy should be, and this is part of the consideration. People receiving coronavirus vaccinations overseas will need to provide evidence that they are vaccinations that have been approved for use in the UK by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).
