We will be hosting the first Dorset Youth Representatives Group, this Thursday 12th November 2020.

The Dorset Youth Representatives Group is for people who work with young people across Dorset.

The aim of this group is so organsations across the county link up on projects that involve young people. We hope that by meeting and having regular conversations, we can go someway to ensure that young people are kept at the heart of decision making (when it affects them). We also hope and that we can continue to improve our working practices by sharing our learning and our experiences. This has never been as important as it is now, in these uncertain and unprecendented times.

We currently have three different projects happening at NHS Dorset CCG which affect services that some children and young people use. We have recorded some short interviews with the project teams to give some background about each project. We will update you on the outcomes and progress of each project on our Involve page.

We will present these projects to the group on Thursday, and to hear the groups thoughts on how to best give young people the opportunity to be involved, if they wish. We want to consider issues such as accessibility, equality and diversity, and safeguarding.

The Dorset Speech, Language and Communications Services project – Watch Claire Lawrenson give us a speedy update on this work.

The All Age Autism Review – Watch Laura White’s 3 minute interview.

Children and Young People’s Mental Health Services – Background and an update by Elaine Hurl.

Thank you for watching these videos, please dont hesitate to contact me if you have any queries on communications@dorsetccg.nhs.uk

I hope that this will be the first of many sessions for Dorset Youth Representatives, and I look forward to working with all the attendees more closely. I will update the Involve webpage with the outcomes of this first meeting.
