The Annual General Meeting of the NHS Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group takes place 9:30am – 11:30am on Wednesday 10 July 2019 at the Hamworthy Club, Magna Road, Canford Magna, Wimborne, Dorset, BH21 3AP, at which we will be presenting our Annual Report and Accounts for 2018/2019.

Attendees will also be able to find out more about how GP services are developing in their area and about the benefits of new Primary Care Networks. You will also be able to speak to some of Our Dorset partners who will have information stands at the meeting.

Registration is not required; however, we would encourage people to do so in order to help planning.

Dermatology Patient Representative Opportunity

Do you have experience of using our dermatology services in Dorset?

Do you have the experience to contribute to strategic discussions on the future of dermatology services in Dorset?

Would you feel able to represent dermatology service users at our planning event in West Moors on 20 June?

Current campaigns – Cover Up Mate, PPG Awareness Week, Carers Week, World Blood Donor Day

Cover Up Mate – encourages people who work outdoors, such as farmers, builders, gardeners and sports people, to take a safer approach to the sun in summer to help reduce the incidence of skin cancer.

PPG Awareness Week – aims to promote the role and benefits of PPGs to patients, the public, and health professionals, and to create more understanding of the value of true patient participation. The theme this year is ‘Celebrating General Practice’ – aiming to promote widely the value of ‘good’ PPGs, where informed and involved patients work together with their practice to improve the quality of care and outcomes for patients.

Carers Week – raises awareness of caring, highlights the challenges unpaid carers face and recognises the contribution they make to families and communities across the UK. The theme this year is ‘Getting Carers Connected’ – everyone has a part to play in connecting carers and helping them get the support they need to care without putting off their own health needs or losing important relationships with others.

World Blood Donor Day – Friday 14 June is World Blood Donor Day, a worldwide annual campaign thanking the voluntary, unpaid blood donors for their life-saving gifts of blood, highlighting the importance of blood donation, and encouraging people to sign up.
