Our core structure

We are a membership organisation comprising of 73 GP practices throughout Dorset. Primary care services are the first point of contact for most people who seek health advice or treatment.

PCNs consist of a group of Practices working together and in partnership with other providers, hospitals and the voluntary sector to offer more personalised, coordinated health and social care to the people living in their area. Across Dorset we have 18 Primary Care Networks and all the Practices are a member of a PCN led by a Clinical Director and in Dorset these are GPs working in general practice.  Networks have recruited and introduced additional healthcare professionals to support practices with health and social care needs for their population.

The Governing Body meets bi-monthly. Part 1 of these meetings are held in public and there is an opportunity for members of the public and representative bodies to put questions to the Governing Body towards  the end of Part 1 of the meeting.

To support NHS Dorset CCG’s values, and in response to requests from the public, the Governing Body is pleased to invite questions from members of the public and organisational representatives, at Governing Body meetings.

In order to effectively manage the meetings, questions will be taken at the end of the public part of the meeting (Part 1) for 20 minutes. In the event that the number of questions exceeds the time allotted, questions will be dealt with in the order they were received.
To enable the board to research and fully answer as many questions as possible during this period, we would welcome written advance notice of questions, but are happy to take any questions at the end of Part 1 of the meeting. Questions should be framed succinctly and be relevant to general health care commissioning and not personal or individual issues*. Please submit any advance questions within 5 working days of board meetings either by e-mail: corporate.office@dorsetccg.nhs.uk or by post:
