The work of NHS Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) in supporting Armed Forces personnel has been recognised with an Armed Forces Covenant Silver Employer Recognition Scheme Award.

Awards are given to organisations by the MoD in recognition of efforts to support defence personnel issues.

Silver Awards are presented to organisations that can demonstrate support for service personnel, showing flexibility towards annual training and mobilisation commitments of Reservist employees and support the employment of Cadet Instructors, Armed Forces Veterans (including the wounded, injured and sick) and military spouses/partners, whilst at the same time encouraging others to do the same

They must also employ at least one member of the Armed Forces community.

Rob Munro, an Army veteran who works within the Primary Care Team, is the NHS Dorset CCG Armed Forces champion and leads on a number of Armed Forces Covenant driven pieces of work.

He said “We are proud to support Armed Forces personnel in many forms and are delighted to receive the award which recognises the ongoing commitment to supporting veterans, reservists and their families.”

Representatives of NHS Dorset CCG will attend a regional ceremony later this year where they will receive their Silver Award.
