Healthcare professionals from across the county gathered together on Friday 9 February for the Dorset AHPs into Action conference.

AHPs into Action was launched in 2017 and is a strategy for using Allied Health Professions to transform health, care and wellbeing. The conference was aimed at sharing ideas and inspiring discussions about how this can be achieved in Dorset , both for patients and for the staff delivering the services.

Tim Goodson, Chief Officer NHS Dorset CCG opened the day and was followed by presentations from Suzanne Rastrick – Chief Allied Health Professions Officer with NHS England, Dr Karen Kirkham – Assistant Clinical Chair NHS Dorset CCG – and local care organisations; with topics ranging from future workforce, the evolving role of paramedics, new guidance for spinal trauma bracing, developments for care homes and blending the boundaries between health and social care.
