Stay warm, stay well this weekend
05 December 2017

With a cold spell being forecast for the next few days, local healthcare organisations are reminding people to look after themselves and stay warm to stay well.

A cold Arctic air is predicted to spread south across England during Thursday 7 December with significant wind chill making things feel colder.

Cold weather can increase health risks for vulnerable people. Try and keep your home heated to around 18 degrees C to keep yourself and your family or friends warm.

If you have elderly relatives or know of people in your community who may be vulnerable take the time to check on them.

If you start to feel unwell seek help straight away, don’t wait until things worsen. Your local pharmacy can help out with coughs and colds; and if you need help but aren’t sure where to go call 111 and they can advise you. 111 is free and open 24 hours a day seven days a week.
